No one was home when a farm house caught fire southwest of Troy Grove early Monday morning. And thick fog made it hard for anyone else to see the flames. When fire fighters finally became aware of it, it was too late to save the house.
The Mendota Fire Department called in for help from Peru, Earlville, Arlington, and Sublette. The fire’s cause is still being investigated. No one was hurt in the fire.
