Honorary street names in Marseilles were honors decades in the making

Honors for three Marseilles men killed in the Vietnam War were a few decades in the making. Honorary street names were approved for Army Specialist Norman Eugene Treest on W. Bluff St., Air Force Sgt. Michael Vangelisti on E. Bluff, and Army Staff Sgt. Jon Sapp on Main St. This is a project David Raikes worked on. He says the idea of honoring the men came from Larry Shehorn, who served in Vietnam and died 18 years ago.

Raikes plans a ceremony later this year around Veterans Day. He talks more about the honors in this interview:
