Truckers Against Trafficking warns against groomers getting to know your family

Someone you know could be grooming someone who’s important to you to lure the person into prostitution. Truckers Against Trafficking Systems Administrator Susan Dold says many people are tricked into it by people they know, people who seem to be nice. There’s a kind of grooming the organization calls Romeo pimping.

Dold says one sign of such pimping is when a teenage girl is traveling with a man who’s several years older. She recommends keeping an eye on any young person you know who has a relationship with someone much older.

Truckers Against Trafficking was in Spring Valley last week to teach truck drivers how to recognize the signs that someone has been forced into prostitution and when to call police. Click this link to read our other story and hear a more in depth interview about the problem.
