LaSalle County Board incumbent Jerry Myers lost in the primary election in the 28th district against fellow Republican Matt Slager. Myers tried to run as a write in.
In other Republican primary board elections, incumbent Catherine Owens won against John Middleton to keep her seat. Rick O’Sadnick beat Martin Rue Jr. in the 11th district. William Brown Jr. beat Nicole Mertes in the 16th district. And Ray Gatza beat Joseph Nuske in the 9th.
No Democrats ran against each other in this primary election.
