U.S 6 is open to traffic again in LaSalle after it was rerouted due to the fire at the KFC restaurant on 3rd St. early Tuesday morning. LaSalle Fire Department Engineer Hunter Thurman says the cause of the fire is still being investigated by the state fire marshal’s office. It took about five hours to put it out. The restaurant received major damage because of the fire; although there isn’t a cost estimate yet. Firefighters used a tower truck to put water on the building as it burned. We have not heard of any injuries. The fire call came in about 2am.
