The city of Marseilles and the Marseilles Ministerial Association are hosting a grand opening for a new community center. It will be located at the old Casey’s gas station at 850 West Bluff Street from one to four tomorrow.
Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says the community center will be used for events like student youth groups, after school programs, and mentoring programs. The association is still looking for donations including chairs, tables, desks, games, and school supplies. They are also looking for appliances like a stove, refrigerator, and freezer .
They are also looking for tutors, mentors, and people who can do maintenance on the building. Hollenbeck says the center is a great project in the making so stop and check out the progress.
