Habitat for Humanity marked an anniversary in its LaSalle, Bureau, and Putnam counties chapter over the weekend. Local Executive Director Todd Volker says it’s been a year since the ReStore opened. Home improvement merchandise and materials are sold to support Habitat’s home building projects.

Volker says the public calls with donations of gently used furniture, fixtures, and other things. And a procurement officer finds companies that have stock to give away to support the cause. Volker says what you see in the store on Shooting Park Rd. in Peru is different every week. He says it’s in the right location on Shooting Park Rd. east of Illinois 251 in Peru.

Volker says everyone from antique dealers to contractors are regular customers.
