Bennett Sousa earned his third win out of the bullpen. The White Sox remain in third place in the AL Central with a 28-and-31 record.

The Chicago Cubs gave up three runs in the top of the eighth to give the Padres the lead in a 4-1 loss at Wrigley Field. Rowan Wick gave up all three runs and was tagged with the loss. Justin Steele had a strong start, giving up just one run over seven innings and Yan Gomes drove in the Cubs only run with a solo home run in the second inning. The North-Siders have lost seven straight and fall to 23-and-37 and will send Kyle Hendricks to the hill against San Diego tonight.
The St. Louis Cardinals overcame a five-run deficit to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-5 at Busch Stadium. The Cards scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth, tying the game on a three-run home run from Dylan Carlson. St Louis leads the NL Central with a 35-and-27 record, and will have a double-header against the Pirates today.
