Community kitchen to resume in Ottawa

By WCMY News Jun 13, 2022 | 3:23 PM

A Servant’s Heart is resuming its community kitchen. It’ll serve free lunches for anyone starting Wednesday this week and run on weekdays from 11:30am to 12:30pm. That’ll be at the Salvation Army building on W. Madison St. in Ottawa. There are no income eligibility requirements.

Board President Jessica Kempiak says soup kitchen isn’t the right term for it. Plenty of things that aren’t soup are served for free.

Donations are welcome. Kempiak says gardeners and local food distributors donate a lot of supplies.
