One construction project could cause traffic delays for some residents in Ottawa. The Illinois Department of Transportation will start making repairs on the IL 23 Illinois River Bridge starting Tuesday. IDOT will replace bridge expansion joints, deck slab patching, and make other repairs. One lane will remain open.
Drivers should expect delays and should allow for extra time.
Update: The Illinois Department of Transportation says building up temporary pavement at the intersection of IL 178 and U.S 6 will not happen on Wednesday. The project is being rescheduled.
