For a seventh year, advisors from the America in Bloom National Awards Program will come to Ottawa. Sharon Hadden and Galen Gates will stay Monday and Tuesday to evaluate the community’s efforts in the following categories: flowers, landscaped areas, urban forestry, environmental efforts, celebrating heritage, and overall impression.
In addition to receiving a detailed written evaluation citing strengths and opportunities for improvement, participants will receive a special mention for what the advisors deem to be an extraordinary project. Awards in the different categories will be announced September 29th through October 1st at the AIB’s National Symposium and Award Celebration in St. Louis, Missouri.
More than 275 communities from forty-three states have participated in the program.
