A semi-truck that caught fire on westbound Interstate 80 a mile east of Ottawa. That caused a traffic shutdown between Ottawa and Marseilles yesterday afternoon. The Marseilles Fire Protection District says the impacts from the semis hitting each other caused the fire to start. It was under control in thirty minutes.
Traffic was diverted off of Interstate eastbound 80 onto Rt. 71. No one was injured. Marseilles also had help from Wallace and Serena Fire Departments.
