Yesterday on WCMY, Michael Kopech tossed six scoreless innings as the White Sox blanked the Dodgers 4-0 at Guaranteed Rate Field. AJ Pollock broke a scoreless tie with a two-RBI double in the sixth inning. The Sox have won three straight to improve to 26-and-27.

Keegan Thompson lasted just three innings in the Cubs’ 9-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Thompson allowed seven runs on five hits and was charged with his first loss of the season. Christoper Morel had a triple, a home run, and two RBI in the losing effort. Alec Mills pitched five innings of relief in his return from the injured list, and he gave up just two runs. The Cubs fall to 23-and-33. Marcus Stroman gets the call for tonight’s game against Baltimore.
The St. Louis Cardinals gave up a three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth inning during a 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. Drew VerHagen was a strike away from saving the game for St. Louis before Taylor Walls went deep to end it. VerHagen falls to 3-and-1 with the loss as the Cards spoil a strong outing from Dakota Hudson, who gave up just one run in seven innings. The Cardinals fall to 32-and-24 and will take on the Rays again tonight.
In other baseball news, The Los Angeles Angels are parting ways with former Cubs manager Joe Maddon. The move came after the Angels had lost 12 straight games following a strong start to the season.
The Chicago Sky aim for their fourth straight win when they visit the Washington Mystics at Entertainment and Sports Arena tonight. The Sky are in third place in the WNBA with a 7-and-3 record.
The Tampa Bay Lightning tied up the Eastern Conference Finals at two games apiece. The two-time defending NHL champions defeated the New York Rangers 4-1 in Game Four. The series will shift back to Madison Square Garden for Game Five on Thursday night. The winner of the seven game series will take on the Colorado Avalanche who advanced to the Stanley Cup Final after sweeping the Edmonton Oilers in four games.
The NBA Finals will move to Boston tonight as the Celtics prepare to host the Warriors for Game Three. The Celtics were able to steal Game One on the road before the Warriors stormed back to take Game Two in San Francisco. It’s the first time Boston has had a home game in the NBA Finals since 2010.
The Chicago Bears had to cancel their voluntary planned practice yesterday because of an on-field contact violation by the team. An NFLPA representative saw multiple instances of on-field contact dating back to last month, and the collective bargaining agreement states that contact is not allowed during offseason workouts. The Bears will hold their last OTA workout tomorrow before transitioning into mandatory minicamp next week.
