A Justice, Illinois man says he’s sorry for the trouble he caused at the Oasis gas station in Ottawa at the end of February. Twenty-eight year old Kyle Buss is going to prison for a four-year term for armed robbery. He went in, acted like he had a gun, robbed the place of some cash, and went to another business nearby until police found him.
Prosecutor Matt Kidder told Judge H. Chris Ryan Friday, Buss had a bottle, not a gun, in his pocket. That doesn’t make a difference for an armed robbery charge. The minimum sentence is four years behind bars.
Buss has another court date later this month for an unrelated shoplifting case.
