Seneca H.S. to eat higher meal costs as free lunches for everyone end

School lunches won’t be free for all students anymore in the next school year. In case it’s any consolation, lunch prices are staying at $2.85 per student at Seneca High School. Supt. Dan Stecken says food prices are up, but the school’s eating the higher cost.

The federal government provided money for all students to have free lunches and breakfasts during the pandemic. That program’s ending, so it’s back to the free and reduced price meals students qualify for based on household income. The applications will be taken during school registration.

Stecken says most students at the school lunch during the pandemic. Most also went to school for breakfast.
