Displays have been set up at the new location for the Streatorland Historical Society Museum by Streator’s City Park. It opens Saturday and will be open from 10am to 3pm from Wednesday through Saturday.
Director Mary Lou Anderson says the museum was in the house, too small for everything, on South Vermilion St. for 35 years. Space won’t be so scarce at the new location–the former medical office of Dr. Glen Ricca. She and the organization’s members were amazed at all the space when they looked around for the first time.
The historical society plans to be open on special event days in City Park to sell merchandise.
