Doris A. Pedigo, 91

Doris A. Pedigo, 91, of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Pleasant View Lutheran Nursing Home in Ottawa. Doris was born in Leland, Illinois on April 7, 1931, she was the daughter of Nels T. and Ella L. (Buland) Nelson.
Doris was a graduate of Leland High School, class of 1949. She went on to graduate in 1951 from Rockford Business College. After college she was employed with King & Hamilton from 1951-1954. In 1958 she became an administrative assistant for Caterpillar, retiring in 1986. Doris married Roger Pedigo on June 29, 1973; he preceded her death on October 8, 2016. Doris enjoyed crafts, photography, sewing and traveling, but most of all cherished her time with her family.
Doris will be most remembered for her ability to light up a room with her smile and her love for butterflies.
Doris is survived by her children Jill Robinson of Ottawa, Wendy (Bob) Modine of Somonauk, and Jodie Pedigo of Sandwich; grandchildren John “Skeeter” Robinson of Morton, Jana (Jacob) Callahan of Marseilles and Michael (Desiree) Pedigo of Peru; great grandchildren Ashton Callahan, Sophia, Alexander and Elizabeth Pedigo.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband Roger, and son and daughter-in-law David (Maggie) Pedigo.
Preferred memorials may be made in Doris’s name to the Pleasant View Activity Fund or Benevolent Care, 505 College Ave, Ottawa, Il 61350.
A visitation for Doris will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pleasant View Chapel, 505 College Avenue in Ottawa. A celebration of Doris’s life will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10:00 am at Pleasant View Chapel. Doris will be laid to rest at Little Indian Creek Cemetery in Leland, next to her husband.
A special “Thank You” to Pleasant View staff and friends for their loving care for Doris over the last several years.
