The COVID-19 fatality rate in LaSalle County is down to 1.57%. Earlier in the pandemic it had been around 2.5%.
A woman in her 80’s is the latest to fall to the virus, according to the LaSalle County Health Department’s weekly report. Hers is the 472nd fatal case out of 29,979 known cases altogether.
New cases during the week numbered 332. There were 74 recoveries. The current case count as of Friday is 1,386. That figure has been climbing since it dropped to 695 on April 14th.
