The Ottawa Elementary School Board is borrowing $3.5 million for different projects around the district. Supt. Cleve Threadgill says about two million dollars will be used to help with installing geothermal energy and Jefferson and McKinley Elementary Schools. He says the rest of the money will be used for other projects.

They could include tuck pointing and roof work at Lincoln Elementary. He also says even though the district is borrowing money, it shouldn’t affect their tax rate.
