An intergovernmental agreement between the city of Oglesby and Illinois Valley Community College will enhance campus security. Oglesby Police Officer Randy Leininger will be assigned to be on campus as a full-time school resource officer.
The college’s board of trustees approved spending about $70,000 a year for the next two years for a contract with her. The college’s current contract with the city allows police to work only twenty hours a week for about $33,000. The agreement starts on June 1st of this year and goes until April 2025.
Campus Security Supervisor Robert Ogden says Leninger will be on the job Monday thru Friday.
