LaSalle County’s community level in the coronavirus risk rankings has moved up from low to medium. That’s based on the number of cases during the week, new hospital admissions, and how many hospital beds are in use by COVID patients.
The LaSalle County Health Department says two more county residents have died from the virus. That brings the total to 471 out of 29,647 cases. The county’s mortality rate is just over 2%.
From Friday to Friday during the last week, the county’s current case count grew from 922 to 1,128. The current case count has grown for four weeks in a row. It was 695 a month ago.
