Results in Softball

Ottawa were winners at home over Rochelle 7-1. McKenzie Oslanzi pitched a complete game throwing 11 strikeouts. On offense, Oslanzi, Rileigh Stehl and Brynne Sember each batted a pair of hits.

 

Seneca won at home over Woodland 6-5. Allie Arwood blasted a  two-run homer in the win. Shae Simons went 7 innings allowing 4 runs with 4 strikeouts in the loss. 

 

Newark defeated Serena 11-1 in five innings. Pitcher Kodi Rizzo struck out eight batters, Kaitlyn Schofield, Danica Peshia and Ryan Williams all homered in the victory.

 

Morris hosted and defeated Sandwich 6-3.

 

 

In Baseball

The Ottawa Pirates went into extra innings but fell to Morris 5-4 in 8 innings. Luke Cushing blasted a homerun, had a single and drove home two runs,  pitchers Jack Olson and Aiden Mucci combined for 6 strikeouts in the loss

 

Newark had a big win over Serena 7-0. Joe Martin threw 7 innings with 11 strikeouts, Lucas Pasakarnis and Mitch Kruser  each had two hits and two RBIs.

 

Mendota defeated their host Somonauk 9-4.

 

Marquette competed at the 1A Bureau Valley Sectional in Track & Field. Maggie Jewett placed third in the 800. The team of Jewett, Lilly Craig, Morgan Nelson and Mary Jo Lechtenberg took 3rd place in the 800 relay.
