Habitat for Humanity for LaSalle, Bureau, and Putnam counties has a new executive director. Todd Volker was named the new director after Sally Van Cura retired in February.

Volker says he wanted the job because the organization has different challenges. He says it’s appealing to him because of mission of the organization.

Volker is a life-long resident of LaSalle and Bureau counties and went to Princeton High School. He is a graduate of Knox College in Galesburg and obtained his master’s degree from the University of Illinois. He says one thing he wants to accomplish is setting up the organization to be able to build house more frequently around the area.

Volker will be responsible for the operations for the affiliate’s housing construction projects, affordable housing public education efforts, and will be in charge of the ReStore in Peru.
