LaSalle County voter registration cards were mailed Monday. Around 70,000 registered voters in LaSalle County should get them any day now, although a few who recently registered might have to wait a week or two. County Clerk Lori Bongartz says you don’t need the card to vote, but you can use it now to find out the various districts you’re in.

For most voters, at least one district has changed because of redistricting. If you don’t get a voter registration card within two weeks and you’re sure you’re a registered voter, contact the County Clerk’s Office.

Other preparations are happening ahead of primary voting starting this month. Unless there are last minute court cases over who’s a candidate, ballots will be ready soon and you’ll be able to get a booklet naming the candidates.

The last day to register to vote the regular way is May 31st. But other voter registration continues all the way up to the primary election day on June 28th.
