Results in softball
Ottawa won a thriller on the road at LP 2-0. Zoe Harris hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to give the Lady Pirates the lead with Mckenzie Oslanzi going 7 innings with 8 strikeouts. Pitcher Chloe Mitchell also went 7 innings allowing only 1 run with 9 strikeouts in the loss.
Serena lost at home to Newark in a Little Ten Conference Matchup. Ryan Williams nailed a homerun with 2 RBIs, pitchers Kaitlyn Schofield and Kodi Rizzo combined for 10 strikeouts.
Streator lost on the road at Herscher 8-4. Emma Augustine blasted a home run with two RBIs in the defeat.
Results baseball
Ottawa lost to Sycamore 7-1 and the Pirates are now 12-7 overall this season.
Streator defeated their host Herscher 7-2. Sean McGurk homered while Brady Grabowski batted two hits with 2 RBIs, pitcher Christian Benning went 6 innings with 10 strikeouts.
Seneca got a home win over Roanoke-Benson 6-5. Austin Aldridge pitched 4 strikeouts, Tyler Sulzberger doubled and drove in 2 runs.
Newark were winners at Serena 2-0. Joe Martin gave a strong performance on the mound allowing just three hits and striking out 16 batters in the shutout. Dylan Cartwright pitched 7 innings giving up 2 hits, 1 earned run and delivered 9 strikeouts in the loss.
Track and Field.
Seneca hosted a multi team meet. Individual winners for the boys: Sam Churchill in the Pole Vault, Carter Thomas in the Discus, Given Siegel in the 110 meter Hurdles, High Jump and Long Jump
For the girls, Anna Bruno in the Long Jump, Clara Bruno in the 800 meter, Gracie Steffes in the 1600 meter, Faith Deering for the Discus, Teagan Johnson in the Pole Vault and Gabi Maxwell for the Shot Put.
