In his interview with police, the jurors heard Donald Fredres’s own description of how he shot Gregory and Brenda Barnes. Fredres also mentioned how he shot Greg Barnes first.
He told detectives during his interview that the reason he went to go his ex-wife’s house was because he wanted to see his kids. He says he also shot at the door of the Johnson’s home because the husband Dale Johnson had a gun.
He says when police showed up at his ex-wife’s house, he ran to the side of the house and tried to kill himself. When it didn’t work, he than went ran off behind the house.
Fredres didn’t testify Thursday afternoon.
And after the prosecution decided to rest, the defense rested too. Closing arguments begin Friday morning and deliberation could begin by noon.
