James D. Pierson, 78, of Streator passed away on Tuesday afternoon, (April 26, 2022) at Morris Hospital.
A visitation will be held Sunday from 10AM until 12Noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12Noon at the funeral home with Rev. Rob Dickman officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Jim was born on August 30, 1943, in Fairfield, Illinois to Berniece (Casey) Pierson.
Jim married Janet Sandy on November 30, 1978. She survives.
Also surviving are sons, James (June) Pierson of Streator, Robert Evans of Streator and Scott Pierson of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, grandchildren, Brittany, Matthew, Daphne, and James Pierson, 2 great-grandchildren and sisters, Charlene Klee of Streator, Joylene Dennis of Streator and Patricia Shaver of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bernice (Casey) Pierson, stepfather, Charles Winterrowd, brothers-in-law, James Dennis, Richard Klee, Harold Sandy, Jr., and Paul Shaver, nieces, Laurie Obenhin and Ariel Shaver, nephews, Rick Klee and Jeff Dickman and mother and father in-law, Harold Sr. and Virginia Sandy.
He attended Streator grade schools and Streator High School.
Jim was a member of the Sandy Ford Sportsman Club and the Streator Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He retired from Vactor Mfg. in 2010 after 45 years.
