Ottawa City Hall plans to change companies for marketing the city. It’s finishing a contract with a company called Buxton, which came down from $50,000 per year to $25,000 during the pandemic. Commissioner Wayne Eichelkraut says Next Site will charge nothing except a finder’s fee on businesses that actually move to town.
Buxton was able to use marketing data to tell businesses where they may want to start new shops and existing stores what the buyers want. Eichelkraut and Commissioner Tom Ganiere say Next Site can do the same things.
