Results in high school baseball

Marquette lost a close one on the road to their conference rival Seneca 1-0. Both starting pitchers gave a strong performance with Aiden Thompson pitching 6 Innings with 1 earned run and 7 strikeouts for the Crusaders and Winning Pitcher Matt Cruise giving up just one hit and striking out 13 batters for the Fighting Irish. 

 

Serena suffered a tough loss at home to Somonauk 10-0. Tanner Faivre and Braxton Hart were the only hits for the Huskers.

 

Streator had a big loss at Coal City 12-0 in 5 innings.

 

In Varsity softball 

Marquette won a tough one at home over their Conference rival Seneca 2-0. For the Lady Crusaders, pitcher Kaylee Killelea allowed only two hits and struck out 11 batters. Eva McCallum drove in the only 2 runs for the victory. Pitcher Alyssa Zellers gave a solid performance for the Lady Irish going 6 innings allowing only 2 runs with 7 strikeouts.

 

Ottawa were winners on the road at Joliet Catholic 5-0. For the Pirates, McKenzie Oslanzi pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only a pair of singles and striking out 10 batters, also Zoe Harris nailed a two-run home run. The Victory gave head coach Adam Lewis his 100th career win.

 

Serena won at home over Somonauk 12-2 in 5 innings. Katie Baker had three hits with 4 RBIs, winning pitcher Maddie Glade allowed just two hits, one earned run and 13 strikeouts.

 

Streator lost to their host Coal City 6-5. Jaelyn Blakemore and Emma Augustine both homered for the Lady Bulldogs.

 

Woodland came from behind and won at home over Mendota 10-4. Cheyenne Burns blasted a two-run homer for the Lady Warriors.

 

The Ottawa varsity tennis team lost to Rochelle 3-2. Winners for the Pirates were Adam Gross and Sebastian Cabrera in singles.

 

The Ottawa JV team defeated Rochelle 4-1.For the Pirates, Rylan Salas and Collin Olszewski were winners in singles, The team of Alan Sifuentes & Ethan Farr, partners Trevor Mortenson & Aric Threadgill and the team of Landon Thorsen & Caden Walter won in doubles. 

 

Ottawa hosted a triangular meet in track and field. Winners for the Lady Pirates,  Ella Damron in the 200 meter dash and Eva Heimsoth 1,600 meter run.

In the boys division, winners for the Pirates were Blake Watland in the 110-meter hurdles, Michael Mills in the discus, Marquis Green in the pole vault, DJ White in the long jump and the team of Ryder Miller, Weston Avercamp, Matt Haerle and DJ White in 100 relay.

 

Marquette competed at Seneca in a Multi-Team track meet. Winners for the Crusaders, Nate Kuykendall in the 100 meter dash, the team of Kuykendall, Alex Graham, Ethan Price and Peter McGrath in the 100 relay and the team of Charlie McGrath, Easton Kent, Griffin Walker and Jimmy Lawsha in the 800 relay.
