There is one less person running in the 14th Congressional District. Republican Susan Starrett withdrew her candidacy earlier this month after two people objected to her petitions.
Her statement of candidacy filed was not filled out properly and she withdrew. Three other Republican candidates running in the district also had objections filed, but they were either dismissed or withdrawn.
Five Republicans are looking to run in the November election against current 14th District Cong. Lauren Underwood. There were no objections filled in the 16th Congressional District, which covers parts of southern LaSalle County.
