LaSalle County Board member Mike Kasap thinks the county is using a double standard in giving out federal COVID relief money. He says the county wants the charities to supply more information than the county supplied on its own request for the money. The county is using $3.3 million for building improvements at the Etna Rd. courthouse.
Finance Committee Chairman Brian Dose says county government already knows the project details, because it already approved them.
Those projects will replace the heating and air conditioning, some of the atrium windows, and the east side boiler. Another will make the east side restrooms compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
