Marquette were winners over Prairie Central 5-2 In varsity baseball at Masinelli Field. For the Crusaders, pitchers Taylor Waldron went 5 innings with 7 Strikeouts and 1 earned run and Aiden Thompson threw 2 innings with 2 strikeouts in the win.
Also in baseball St Bede lost at home to Hall 7-2. Highlight for the Bruins was Luke Story hitting a two run double.
In softball, St Bede won at home over Hall 10-0. Payge Pyszka pitched a complete game striking out 7 batters and Ryann Stoudt blasted a home run in the Lady Bruins shutout victory.
It took 10 innings for Newark to get the win at home over Batavia 8-7. For the Lady Norsemen, Winning pitcher Kaitlyn Schofield, who relieved starter Kodi Rizzo went 8 innings 7 strikeouts and no earned runs and Bre Dixon hit a two-run homer.
The Ottawa tennis team competed at the Metamora Invite. Winners for the Pirates were Sebastian Cabrera in singles and the team of Logan Goetsch and Daniel Reinhardt in doubles.
In girls soccer LP and their host Mendota finished in a 2-2 tie. Brooke Schiffbauer scored two goals for the Lady Cavaliers.
Also in soccer, The Streator Lady Bulldogs lost at home to Morris 3-0.

The Cubs won and the White Sox lost in Cactus League action. The Cubs defeated the Reds 4-2 in Goodyear, Arizona. The White Sox fell to the Padres 9-8 in Glendale. Today, The Cubs host the Arizona Diamondbacks while the White Sox get the day off.
The Cardinals lost to the Astros 2-1 in the Grapefruit League in Sarasota, Florida. St. Louis plays the Washington Nationals today in Palm Beach.
The Blackhawks lost to the Sabres 6-5 at the United Center. Kevin Lankinen made 31 saves for the Hawks but allowed all six goals. The Blackhawks play the Florida Panthers on the road on Thursday night
The Chicago Bulls lost to the Knicks 109-104 in Madison Square Garden. DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 37 points and seven assists and Zach LaVine had 27 points. The Bulls continue their East Coast trip tonight against the Wizards in Washington DC.
Results in the elite eight round of the NCAA Women Basketball Tournament. UConn won in double overtime against NC State and Louisville defeated Michigan. The final four is set with Stanford taking on UConn and South Carolina facing Louisville on Friday.
