The Illinois Department of Transportation says they will make repairs to the U.S 34 Bridge that crosses Interstate 39 in Mendota at Exit 72. IDOT says workers will begin working on Monday, March 28th and will include some short term lane closures on both directions of the interstate at the start of the project.

IDOT says workers will be replacing expansion joints, applying latex overlay, and resurfacing shoulders.

One traffic lane will be maintained on U.S 34 at the bridge, and traffic on the highway and Interstate 39 exit ramps will be controlled with traffic signals. IDOT says the project is scheduled to be completed by the summer.
