The city of LaSalle is requesting proposals for garbage services. City Finance Director John Duncan says if the city picks a new service, it would take about six months to order trucks and to have man power in place.
He said two months ago that the city is ready to let their contract with Republic Services end because of inconsistent trash pickup. But Duncan says they could still turn in a proposal. He says the contract ends in January of 2023.
He also says that the companies that make proposals could want to add garbage carts that could be wheeled to the end of a driveway. Duncan also says the proposals could include something new for residents.
