The Marseilles City Council swore in eight members of the local Emergency Service Disaster Agency at Wednesday’s city council meeting. The ESDA members will help the police and fire department in emergency situations whether natural or man-made.
Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says the city has been trying to get the team back up and operational for about a year. The members are all certified in CPR, AED and 1st Aid training.
According to the city’s website, there are currently ten members on the team.
