The city of LaSalle accepted a proposal to remodel an area of the city hall’s basement to store police records. City Finance Director John Duncan says the record are currently stored in the old council chambers on the third floor in a closet.
Duncan says it will cost about $9,000. He says B&B Remodeling will frame in an area that will be built to store the records. He says it will be secure with a locked door.
He says the city has been working on removing old records that could be destroyed because of how outdated they are. He says the city is asking the department of archives before they would be destroyed.
