Teachers who substitute will earn more money at Ottawa Elementary Schools. Anyone who substitutes at a K-6 school will now earn $115 while anyone substituting at Shepherd Middle School or special education will get $120.
Supt. Cleve Threadgill say the raise could get teachers from out of town. He says the district is trying something to entice teachers from out of town.
Substitute teachers were making about $95 per day in K-6 schools before the increase.
