Marquette had a strong 2nd half effort but fell short on the road at Midland 67-63. Tommy Durdan led the Crusaders with 17 points and Griffin Walker added 14 more in the loss.
The JV Cru won big over Midland 60-31 with Carson Zellers scoring 21 points for Marquette.
Streator also lost on the road to Reed-Custer 65-43. Jack Haynes scored 18 points, and Christian Benning added 17 more for the Bulldogs.
Seneca were winners at home over Serena 63-45. Zach Pfeifer led the Irish with 17 points, Noah Siegel added 15 more in the win. For the Huskers, Cam Figgins finished with 15 points.
LP lost in the final seconds at home to Morris 54-53. For the Cavaliers, Sean Whitfield finished with 16 points and Josh Senica scored 14 points.
Newark lost at home to Somonauk 53-47.

The Shepherd’s 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams beat LaSalle Lincoln. Leading the 7th graders was Ashlynn Ganiere with 14 points. For the 8th grade Lady Rams, Jordyn Allen had 12 points, 5 assists and Hayley Ewers finished with 11 points..
