Illinois 76th District St. Rep Lance Yednock says he intends to run for reelection. The Ottawa Democrat says that he’s been circulating petitions.

In a conversation with WCMY, Yednock discussed bills that he supports which include giving grants to children of fallen police officers, and allowing rifles for deer hunting. Yednock also spoke on issues like the pandemic.

He says he’s encouraged to see the mask mandate will stop at the end of the month in public spaces like bars and restaurants. He says the politics of the pandemic are starting to come to an end.

Yednock also spoke about the governor’s budget, saying that it’s a balanced budget that can help pay down pension debt and help with the state’s rainy day fund.

Yednock also spoke about the SAFE-T Act saying that he didn’t vote for the original bill. But he says he has seen the effect it can have on officers. He says there have been several retirements without replacements.

He says he has voted on some bills that have made adjustments to the law.
