Last night on WCMY Ottawa had a strong 2nd half at home but came up short to Dunlap 70-61. The Pirates Anthony Miller had a career high 21 points, Luke Cushing added 13 points and Levi Sheehan finished with 11 in the loss.
The JV squad also lost to Eagles 52-50.Huston Hart led Ottawa with 16 points.
Also in varsity basketball, Streator won at home over Plano 64-48. Jack Haynes scored 36 points to become the sixth Streator Bulldog player to score 1,000 points in his varsity career. Christian Benning finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the victory.
Newark earned a home win over Sandwich 58-44 and Serena won at Woodland 55-43.
Results in girls varsity basketball.
Marquette were winners at St Bede 53-42. Top performers for the Lady Crusaders were Lilly Craig with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Josie Eager finished with 14 points and six rebounds Makayla Backos added nine points and four rebounds.
The JV Crusaders lost to the Bruins 52-33. Morgan Nelson and Kealey Rick each scored 8 points for Marquette.
Serena were winners over Oregon 53-36. Katie Baker finished with 25 points, 7 steals and 6 assists for the Lady Huskers.
LP lost on the road at Kaneland 39-34. Brooklyn Ficek finished with a game high 18 points for the Lady Cavaliers.
Streator lost at Fieldcrest 69-26.

In junior high volleyball
Both Marquette teams competed against Waltham.
The 7th graders won in 2 sets. Leading the lady Knights was Kinley Rick with 10 aces and 4 kills. Anna Hjerpe added 4 aces, 4 kills and 4 assists.
The 8th graders also won in 2 matches. For the Academy Hunter Hopkins had 5 aces, 4 kills and 11 assists and Anna Hjerpe added 5 aces, 3 kills and 5 assists.
Both the 7th and 8th grade Shepherd teams defeated Sandwich. For the 7th graders,Adaleyn Russell had 18 points and Kendall Biba finished with11 points, Leading the 8th grade, Hayley Ewers scored 8 points and Lila Windy had 6 points.
