A Mendota woman and NCI Artworks have been raising money for a mural that will make her family’s building in Mendota look like a different place. Michelle Wade wants the Union Depot mural installed in time for this year’s Sweet Corn Festival.
Wade says she wants to honor the city’s history and inform younger people who never saw the Union Depot. Local artist Ray Paseka of Westclox Studios will paint the mural on aluminum sheets and install them on a steel frame. Wade will present information about the project tonight (February 7) and tomorrow night (February 8) from 6:30 to 8:00 at the Main Street Station Bar and Grill.
