Local unemployment rates were steady or nearly steady from November to December. Illinois Department of Employment Security figures issued Thursday show the rate stayed at 4.6% in LaSalle County. It climbed from 3.7% to 3.9% in Bureau County and dropped from 3.8% to 3.7% in Putnam County. Combining the three counties, the rate stayed at 4.4%. Grundy County’s rate went from 3.8% to 3.9%.
