Thortons LLC now has until 2023 to build a new gas station on the northeast side of LaSalle. The city council approved a request from the company to extend the date from the original contract they signed.
Spokesman Phil Bolduc says in the original agreement with the city, they had until this year to build the new gas station. Bolduc says that wasn’t going to happen. He says the company was acquired by BP plus the pandemic has caused some things to change.
Mayor Jeff Grove says he hopes the Thortons gas station will also be an outlet for other businesses to move into that area.
