Games scheduled tonight in varsity basketball
For the Boys: LP is at Dunlap, Streator is hosting Wilmington, St Bede is home to face Newman Catholic, Newark travels to Morris and Hall will host Mendota.
For the girls: Ottawa will host Rochelle at Kingman Gym, LP is home to take on Joliet Catholic and Morris is at Newark.
Last night on WCMY was a Double-Header of Ottawa High School basketball. In game one the Lady Pirates were victorious over the Lady Indians 37-20 at Sandwich High School.
Grace Carroll and Brooke Waddell each scored 12 points for the Lady Pirates.
In the second game of the double header The Pirates easily defeated the Sandwich Indians 61-40. For the Pirates, Anthony Miller scored a game high 17 points and Luke Cushing finished with 16 points.
Results from last night at the Boys Tri-County Conference Tournament: Midland defeated Henry 61-46 and Seneca won big over Woodland 77-38.
The Marquette Lady Crusaders lost on the road to Seneca 47-33. Kennedy Hartwig led the Lady Irish with 15 points. For the Lady Crusaders, Lilly Craig had 13 points and Josie Eager finished with 10 points in the loss.
In junior high sports
The 7th grade Shepherd Rams defeated Coal City in the regional semifinal 31-15 in basketball. Leading the way for the Rams were George Shumway with 10 points and Dane Schmitz finishing with 9 points, Shepherd will play in the regional championship on Wednesday in Coal City.
The Shepherd volleyball teams competed against Dwight jr. high.
The7th graders won in 3 matches, Leading scorers were Kendall Biba with 14 points and Ashlynn Ganiere scoring 9 points.
The 8th grade team also won in three matches. Jordyn Allen finished with 18 points and Isabelle Markey had 5 kills for the Lady Rams.
