Last night on WCMY was a double header of Ottawa High School Basketball. Game one, the Lady Pirates defeated Morris 35-11. Cheyenne Joachim led the Lady Pirates with 16 points and 7 rebounds. In game two the boys varsity lost to the Redskins 63-42. Luke Cushing and Braiden Miller each finished with 13 points for the Pirates.

 

Other results last night in varsity basketball

Marquette suffered a tough loss on the road at Dwight 59-43. Tommy Durdan led the Crusaders with 19 points. 

Seneca won at home over St Bede 54-45. Zach Pfiefer led the Irish with 14 points.

Serena lost at home to Somonauk 90-75.

 

Results at the Girl’s Tri-County Conference tournament at Marquette High School: Dwight defeated Midland 32-30, Roanoke- Benson lost to HSLW 22-19 and Marquette were winners over Seneca 54-44.  The Crusaders Lilly Craig led the way with 25 points.

Results from high school wrestling

Seneca had matches with Somonauk and their host Putnam County. Winners for the Fighting Irish: Tommy Milton, Robby Nelson, Kyle Hamby, Alex Bogner and Liam Blue.

St Bede faced Morrison and their host Orion in a triangular event . Match winners for the Bruins: Mason and Gavin Hahn, Hunter Savage, Jack Maschmann, Ben Koyak and Blair Stuepfert.

 

In Junior High Sports

Both Shepherd basketball teams competed against Minooka.

The 7th graders won 35-26. Leading the way for the Rams: Griffin Dobberstein with 25 points and Dane Schmitz with 6 points, The Rams are now 17-1 and will be the top seed in their upcoming regional tournament.

The 8th grade team lost 40-25. For the Rams: Archer Cechowicz had 7 points and Hezekiah Joachim and Jax Addis each scored 6 points. 

 

 

Both Shepherd Volleyball teams defeated Plano Jr High.

The 7th graders won in two sets. Leading scores for the Rams were Ashlynn Ganiere with 8 points and Piper Lewis finishing with 7 points. 

The 8th graders also won in 2 matches. Jordyn Allen scored 10 points for Shepherd.
