Last night on WCMY Marquette defeated Low-Point Washburn 59-35 at Bader Gym. Logan Nelson led the way for the Crusaders scoring 17 points with Beau Ewers adding 14 more.
Streator returned to the court after a two week layoff and defeated Lisle 42-38. Jack Starkey finished with a game high 16 points and 3 assists, followed by fellow Bulldog Christian Benning with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Other results in boys basketball: Newark dominated on the road at Depue 70-33, Hall held on to beat St Bede 51-49 and Seneca defeated Henry-Senachwine 74-47.

Results from the Little Ten Conference Girls Basketball Tournament at Serena High School: Serena defeated Hiawatha 52-9 and Earlville beat Hinckley-Big Rock 41-36
The Ottawa varsity girls won on the road at Plano 47-26. The Lady Pirates were led by Kendall Lowery and Marlie Orlandi each scoring 14 points.
The Seneca wrestling team competed with Streator and their host Prairie Central in a triangular event. Match winners for the Fighting Irish: Tommy Milton Robby Nelson Ryan Flynn Owen Feiner Nathan Grant Kyle and Asher Hamby Jaden Casey and Chris Peura.

In the 7th grade contest Marquette defeated Shepherd in two sets. Leading the Lady knights was Kinley Rick with 7 aces, 3 digs and 2 kills.
The 8th grade game Marquette also defeated Shepherd in two sets. Hunter Hopkins led the Academy with 7 kills, 8 assists and 2 aces. Anna Hjerpe had 6 kills, added 3 aces and 7 assists.
