The Starved Rock Regional Center’s ambassador for 2022 is Audrey Nink. She’s a toddler who wasn’t trying to talk and wasn’t sitting up at nine months. Her speech development was slow and she was a late walker. Eventually she was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
Her mother, Hannah Nink, says she’d never heard of the center before Audrey’s diagnosis and referral to it. But the child will help raise money for the Starved Rock Regional Center this year and show everyone what the center does for children facing developmental challenges.
