Current coronavirus cases are up by 50% in LaSalle County from a week ago. The LaSalle County Health Department says with 2,734 new cases and 619 recoveries, current cases climbed from 4,201 to 6,316. The department says the virus is affecting children and younger adults the most, but there were two new cases affecting people who are at least 100 years old.
Five more LaSalle County lives were lost to the virus, according to the health department. That brings the county to 401 fatal cases, or 1.7% of the 23,716 so far.
