The American Red Cross says they are going through the worst national blood shortage in over a decade. Communications Manager Holly Baker says it’s not only a national issue, it also affects people locally.
She says the organization is encouraging people to take time and give blood.
Baker says it’s normal for people to not donate as much during winter. But she says this is something the organization has never seen before.
She says she hopes that people will be patient as the organization is facing shortages with getting workers to do the blood drives as well.
