Other games scheduled tonight in boys basketball: Seneca is hosting Coal City and St Bede is at Kewanee. Tonight’s Ottawa at Rochelle game has been rescheduled for tomorrow night at seven.
Also tonight’s Ottawa girls basketball game at Sandwich has been postponed and will be scheduled for January 24th.

Marquette defeated Dwight 46-15 at Bader Gym. Lilly Craig led the Lady Crusaders with 19 points and Josie Eager added 10 more in the victory.
Seneca won at Putnam County 55-45. Kennedy Hartwig had a game-best 19 points for the Lady Irish.
St Bede were winners at Hall 30-27. The Lady Bruins Leah Smudzinski led the team with 13 points.

Late yesterday morning, The Bears fired head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace after finishing with their first losing season since 2017. Nagy ended his tenure 34-and-31 in four seasons. Pace finishes just 48-and-65 in his seven years as GM.
The Georgia Bulldogs are national champions after defeating the Alabama Crimson Tide 33-18 in Indianapolis. Kelee Ringo returned an interception 79 yards for a touchdown to seal the deal for the Bulldogs. Stetson Bennett threw two touchdowns, including a go-ahead score to Adonai Mitchell to give Georgia the lead for good. It’s the first national championship for the Bulldogs since 1980.
The East-leading Chicago Bulls are back home to take on the Detroit Pistons tonight. The Bulls look to bounce back after having its nine-game winning streak snapped with a 14-point loss in Dallas on Sunday. The Bulls still lead the Eastern Conference with a 26-and-11 mark.
The Blackhawks wrap up their three-game road trip tonight in Columbus against the Blue Jackets. The Hawks have split the first two on the road after beating Vegas on Saturday in Sin City. That snapped a six-game skid for the Blackhawks and moved their record to 12-18-and-5 on the season.
The newly 24th-ranked Fighting Illini are in Lincoln to clash with Nebraska tonight. Illinois jumped into this week’s Top-25 after a pair of wins last week. The Illini have won four straight overall to improve to 11-and-3 on the season, including 4-and-0 in Big Ten play.
The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame announced the 2022 College Football Hall of Fame class. Players elected include Champ Bailey, LaVar Arrington and Andrew Luck. The three coaches selected were John Luckhardt, Billy Jack Murphy and Gary Pinkel. The group will be officially inducted on December 6th during the NFF Annual Awards Dinner.
